Athena cylinder head gaskets are manufactured in various versions, but in competition the MLS and loose ring models are used.

-Athena MLS gaskets are manufactured from high quality 301 stainless steel, consist of 2-5 layers of steel sheets of different compositions and covered by an elastomer layer that gives excellent sealing properties. Reliefs around the combustion chambers and oil/coolant passages increase the local pressure of the hermetic seal (Macro sealing), while on the entire surface there are partial elastomer coatings that provide additional tightness (Micro sealing). Each layer is laser cut and embossed with an optimized forming process. All cylinder head gaskets undergo a stress relief process to significantly reduce the formation of induced stress. All Athena gaskets receive a two-part polymer coating after stress relief on the outer layers. This coating ensures micro sealing properties for engine oils/coolant and is able to withstand a variety of severe environments caused by engine heat cycles.

-Ring seals are made from a reinforced M0115 material, recognized for being asbestos-free, OE homologated and of high quality. These seals also stand out because they feature separate stainless steel rings (AISI 304) that ensure maximum tightness around the cylinder, even in engines with NOS and/or turbo applications where the pressure exceeds 2 bar. No machining of cylinder heads and blocks is required. Finally, the application of silicone beads in critical areas helps improve sealing around all water and oil cooling passages.
