  • Sku MS3 competicion
Description

After the great success of Megasquirt competition we launch our new Megasquirt MS3 competition engine management unit. With many more features and incredible configurations.

Features:

  • Connection via USB and RS232, we recommend RS232
  • Memory card slot, card not included
  • Connectors and terminals included
  • Basic internal MAP sensor up to 260Kpas (1.6 bars of turbo pressure)
  • Possibility of internal MAP sensor of 400 Kpas (3 bars of turbo pressure), optional
  • Possibility of installing internal MAP sensor for constant barometric correction, optional
  • 3 Improved engine position inputs, one for crankshaft and two for cams
  • 12 low-side outputs.
  • 5 ADC inputs for external sensors. Pressure or temperature sensors, EGT (will need external amplifier circuit) etc...
  • Eight low-side inputs. Launch control Cut-Off, double map, etc...
  • Loading in Speed Density (MAP sensor), Alpha-n (TPS position), MAF (flow meter) or mixtures between them
  • Eight injection outputs for high impedance injectors, allows sequential injection for 8 cylinder engines.
  • Eight ignition outputs (valid for most digital coils, including VAG TFSI). Allows ignition in sequential mode for 8 cylinder engines.
  • Possibility of installing internally 8 ignition controllers for high-current coils, optional.
  • Four 16x16 fuel and ignition maps, can be expanded to 16x32 or 32x16, with 0.1 variations in fuel and 0.1º variations for ignition.
  • Combination between four 16 x 16 fuel and ignition maps in different types of fuel and load, alpha-n, speed density, MAF, etc.
  • Eight maps 5 x 5 fuel and eight maps 5 x 5 ignition maps, to correct fuel and ignition variations between cylinders
  • Start of injection from 0º to 720º fixed or variable from 12 x 12 map
  • Two 8 x 8 Turbo pressure maps
  • Different fuel and ignition maps Fuel, ignition and Boost Control, via switch or configured strategies.

  • Test mode to check the operation of all outputs with the engine stopped, fuel pump, injectors, coils, valves and solenoids, etc...

Many more features

Some features may not work together with each other. Some features may require additional circuits.

The units are sent configured to what the customer tells us, but there are many variables that we cannot control and can lead to a failure or error such as electrical installation, modifications or changes made, etc. We recommend hiring help for starting in the drop-down menus on the right, where the following will be checked by remote control:

  • The operation of all sensors and their configuration in Tuner Studio.
  • Correct operation and connection order of the injectors and coils.
  • Ignition setup using a strobe lamp.

If everything is correct, the engine will be attempted to be started and if there is a problem, it will be attempted to be solved.

The time for this help is 90 minutes. If problems arise that are not solved in that time, you have a remote technical support service to help you, visit the following link to see the conditions:

You also have the option of a complete remote engine adjustment or to take an online course in which you can learn how to adjust your unit to your engine, you can find information in the following links:

Megasquirt course information

No unit is sent with a finished engine map, all need an adjustment to the engine in which they are installed, even more so when there are modifications. In fact, this is what is sought when one of our units is installed, the adjustment of the engine to its modifications or to manage systems that would not be possible with the original unit. Of course this takes more time, but the results are usually better.

Megasquirt engine management units started as educational units, although they continue to be, over time they have become management units

Megasquirt

Megasquirt ECUs started out as educational units, but they still are, over time they have evolved into ECUs that have the same features as other brands, in some cases superior, at a much cheaper price and without any restrictions.

MegaSquirt® ECUs are not approved for emissions regulations, this does not mean that they cannot comply with them, with good adjustment they can do so, especially in highly modified engines, where the original management is very limited. They are designed for racing vehicles that do not operate on public roads, older vehicles that do not have to comply with emissions regulations and training centres where teachers can teach their students how an ECU works from the inside and without anything hidden.
