Megasquirt MS3 PNP Alfa romeo 155 Q4

Megasquirt MS3 PNP Alfa romeo 155 Q4

  • Sku MS3 PNP Alfa Q4
Description

Megasquirt Plug And Play for Alfa Romeo 155 Q4.

Features:

  • It maintains all source sensors, including trigger wheel and cam phase sensor installed in the distributor, except for the MAP sensor that is internal.
  • Sequential injection, only supports high impedance injectors.
  • Original ignition or with sequential ignition option with independent logical coils (type TFSI).
  • Anti-lag
  • Turbo pressure control by gears. You need to add a speed sensor.
  • Although it is not mandatory, it is recommended to change the idle valve for a more modern one with greater resistance in its winding and greater air flow, especially if you want to use anti-lag.

The selection of the ignition option should be correct for what you have the engine installed. The ignition module must be the original one, it cannot be removed or exchanged for another model. The circuit for independent coils is different from that designed for the stock ignition, if selected, the ECU cannot be used with the stock ignition.

When sequential ignition is selected, the ECU is configured to send a 5V signal, so logic ignition coils must be used. Do not use high-current ignition coils; if you wish to use this type of coils, install an amplifier module between the coils and the ECU.

When sequential ignition is selected, the ECU has four ignition outputs, but it can also operate in:

  • Distributor ignition
  • Wasted spark ignition
  • Sequential ignition

It is only necessary to change the ignition configuration to switch between these modes. Never use this type of ignition with the original coils and module; only with logic coils.

Logic ignition output assignment:

  • Pin 26 (Spark A): Distributor ignition. Cylinders 1 and 4 with wasted spark ignition. Cylinder 1 in sequential ignition.
  • Pin 25 (Spark B): Cylinders 2 and 3 in wasted spark. Cylinder 3 in sequential mode.
  • Pin 14 (Spark C): Cylinder 4 in sequential mode.
  • Pin 13 (Spark D): Cylinder 2 in sequential mode.

Remember that this configuration is valid only for logic coils. Do not use high-current coils or the original ignition module.

By removing the original ignition module, you must send a signal to the tachometer for it to work. Pin 7 has been reserved for this function. In the tachometer settings in Tuner Studio, you will find the IAC2A output already configured. This pin sends a 12V square wave signal. It has not been tested on all models; it may not work on some tachometers and an external circuit may be required.

In addition to the original functions, it includes:

  • 8 auxiliary outputs PWM switching to ground.
  • 5 ADC inputs 0 to 5 V
  • 6 Switching inputs for Launch control, cut-off, double map, etc ...
  • In the case of selecting the internal barometric pressure sensor, the EXT MAP input is used internally for the connection of the second MAP sensor, so it does not this entry must be used from the rear in this case.

  • Many more features

Some features may not work together. Some features may require additional circuits.

No unit is shipped with a map of the finished engine, all of them need an adjustment to the engine in which they are installed, especially when there are modifications. In fact, this is what is sought when installing one of our units, adjusting the engine to its modifications or managing systems that would not be possible with the origen unit. Of course this costs more time, but the results are usually better.

Megasquirt

Megasquirt ECUs started out as educational units, but they still are, over time they have evolved into ECUs that have the same features as other brands, in some cases superior, at a much cheaper price and without any restrictions.

MegaSquirt® ECUs are not approved for emissions regulations, this does not mean that they cannot comply with them, with good adjustment they can do so, especially in highly modified engines, where the original management is very limited. They are designed for racing vehicles that do not operate on public roads, older vehicles that do not have to comply with emissions regulations and training centres where teachers can teach their students how an ECU works from the inside and without anything hidden.
